AHO PUB ASSOCIATION

The student pub at AHO, a long-standing institution dating back to the 1970s, was close to being shut down and converted into a classroom due to a lack of initiative and sustainable management. To reverse this trend, I was asked to recruited and assembled a board, and together we established an independent student association to take ownership of and revitalise the pub.

Today, the association is self-sufficient, with recurring members, streamlined operations, and a lively student community.

Key factors behind the turnaround included:

• Establishing a board with a flat organisational structure

• Simplifying and standardising daily operations

• Bringing administration and operations in-house

• Automating accounting and bookkeeping processes

• Creating routines for knowledge transfer between boards

• Defining clear roles, responsibilities, and ownership
