Windtage

Windtage is a retro-inspired hair dryer that combines 1970s aesthetics with functional design. Its form transitions from circular to angular, inspired by natural shapes such as whale sharks and river deltas. 

The handle features an integrated retractable cord for easy storage. Designed for everyday use, it is lightweight, ergonomic, and intuitive. Windtage meets ESPR requirements, is easy to disassemble, and is made from recycled ocean plastic. 

The process began with inspiration from illustrated books featuring different hair dryers, followed by a sketching process and experimentation with automotive clay. A foam volume model was then created. Finally, the selected concept was 3D modelled in Fusion 360.
